Shirey Helping Out the Community

In thinking of ways to help the local community, Shirey Contracting recently donated a truck to Seattle Central Community College's Wood Working program, where Riley Shirey learned the trade and currently serves on the board. I'm sure those students will put it to good use!

Partnering with Shirey Handyman, the company participated in the 15th annual Rampathon event, helping to build ramps for low-income, disabled people who otherwise couldn't afford them.

Shirey Contracting Purchases Smart Car

Shirey Contracting recently purchased a Smart Car to promote its Build Smart™ philosophy.

The Smart Car is designed to be extremely fuel efficient and compact enough to be parked “backed up” to a curb rather than parallel parked. The Smart Car is only 8 feet, 2.5 inches long, less than 5 feet wide, and gets nearly 70 miles of highway driving per gallon. Shirey Contracting’s Smart Car features the company’s name, website and Build Smart™ logo. They purchased their Smart Car at The Green Car Company in Kirkland.

Build Smart™ is the company’s driving philosophy which reflects their deep commitment to environmental sustainability. It involves consistently utilizing the best products, processes and technologies in the construction of buildings that are healthy, energy efficient, lower-maintenance and built to last. By using the Smart Car for transportation, the company further reduces its environmental impact and strengthens its adherence to the Build Smart™ philosophy.
